•NAME: Gideon Wulfric Prewett
•NICKNAME(S): gid, if you're very hardpressed to find one, but normally, that's just when you're calling him across the room. that, of course, leads to another nickname, slightly less fortunate... but he is not a git, so don't try that at home
•AGE/YEAR: Seventeen & Seventh Year
•BLOOD: Pureblood
•SEXUALITY: Straight.
•PREFFERRED HOUSE/POSITION: Ravenclaw
•PLACE OF BIRTH: ottery-st-catchpole

•HAIR: Gideon has dark blondish-reddish hair that he lets grow out. He never, ever brushes it, so it's always in quite a state of disarray, the whole "just rolled out of bed" look, which is exaggerated by his lack of showering most days. Only Molly has permission to knock him for his hair and/or fix it. Part of the problem is that it grows so fast that he doesn't want to bother with cutting it every time it reaches past his eyes. The hair on his face grows rapidly, too, and so he shaves constantly, usually when he's at home with his brother's razor because his is all rusted. Don't tell Fabian, though. He often plays with his hair whenever he is nervous, a very bad habit he probably picked up from some girl.
•EYES: His eyes are green, but most people don't notice them because of his extremely thick eyebrows. They're the normal width apart and the normal shape for most Caucasians.
•GENERAL APPEARENCE: He works out-Quidditch and more Quidditch- and it shows. Defined arms, defined abs, the whole package is something that he tries to show off at every opportunity. He is toned because of all of this, so that he can eat like a horse, without it having any kind of a nullifying effect some days. He is tall, not the tallest boy in his class by any means, but taller than most.
He doesn't have anything particularly "pure blood" about his look. He has a very strong jaw, though, and a slightly angular nose. His lips are surpsingingly thin. When he smiles, he looks like he is in pain his whole face lights up. His skin is pale, despite the time that he spends in the sun.
•DISTINGUISHING FEATURES:
-He smells like smoke most of the time because he has taken to smoking between classes whenever he can. He doesn't have the other signs of a smoker, though- his nails are the right color and so are his teeth. He's actually got very bright teeth because he brushes them often so that his breath doesn't smell like an ash tray.
-a tattoo of a raven eating a snake on his shoulder. on more than one ocassion, muggleborn girls have told him that it looks a bit like the mexican flag
•STYLE: Gideon hates his school uniform, and therefore wears it as little as possible. Whenever he can, you can find him in jeans and a shirt. He doesn't wear jackets, they make him uncomfortable, so even when it is freezing in the castle, you won't find him in one of the many blue sweaters he owns. He does steal things from his brother's closet, however, on occasion, but he thinks that he looks better in them.
•PLAYBY: Robert Pattinson. Yes, I know. So what?

•HISTORY:
Most people don't realize that Gideon didn't start out this confident. He was born after Fabian, into a lovely family that included his older sister Molly, but he was sickly, weak up until he was around five. At that time, he fell in love with Quidditch, and never looked back. He wanted to be a great player, and so started to train for it. He got along well with his siblings, but he found their games not fun at all. Molly wanted to play house; Fabian wanted to play football. He studied most of what he knew from his father, but he would rather be climbing trees than reading. As they grew older, though, Gideon became closer to Fabian. Some of his favorite pastimes were switching places with Fabian- they looked more alike in those days- and chasing after the girls. He's proud to say that he took his first kiss at five. It was on a playdate with one of Fabian's friends.
Eventually, it came time to go to Hogwarts. This was what Gideon was excited for. He could barely contain his excitement as he stood on the platform. He had never doubted his letter- it was just waiting from him, he imagined, for the day that he would be old enough. Gideon wanted to be a Gryffindor, and he never doubted that he, and Fabian, would be in the same house. Everything was going according to plan when Gideon was put into Ravenclaw. He looked up and had to see the look on his brother's face. It took awhile for them to reconcil the different houses thing, but as they've gotten older and have more classes together, it's easier to wreck havoc together again.
In school, Gideon mainly focused on DADA and Transfiguration. They were good, but nothing off-the-charts spectacular. He tried out for the Quidditch team ever year, even though the old captain thought that he was too skinny. That guy finally graduated, and he got his spot in fifth year. Not enough time to leave a legacy, to be sure, but enough to give other people a run for their money. With girls, Gideon started dating in fourth year. He moves from girl to girl pretty quickly, mostly because they either start to get serious, or they figure out that he's an overgrown five year old. It doesn't bug him, save that first time, because he wasn't expecting it then.
On his OWLs, Gideon did well- really well on most of the practical sections with good grades on everything else. He has grow a little bit more serious over the last year, but only in the sense that his jokes are more meaningful. He's still a teenager, for Merlin's sake; he doesn't know what he wants to do with his life. It actually makes it sick, people like Fabian who are constantly talking about settling down, or people like Lily and James, who are starting to actually move that way. These are best years of life; why waste them? He does, however, know that he is going to fight Voldemort after graduation. He hates the stupid idiot. That's the one thing about his future that he is absolutely sure of.

•PERSONALITY:
Gideon is a very black-and-white type of guy. You're with him, or you're not. You're an awesome blood traitor, or you're a stupid Slytherin. This can be a good thing for him because he doesn't have a lot of guilt, but it can be bad because he doesn't accept the fact that people can change and break the mold. He firmly believes that people are what they were born as, and that it's only shades of intensity after that. He believes that the ends never justify the means, that one life lost is never acceptable. He also believes that the rules are there for a reason, and that breaking them is like crossing a barrier that shouldn't be crossed. If he was a Muggle, he'd be a cop, because he firmly believes in the rules.
Of course, he'd be the bad cop. He's the bolder twin, the one more likely to get into your face. He calls himself the evil twin because he is the one that is more likely to do things that people don't expect. He likes to goof off and try crazy things. He believes in living life to the fullest, and not worrying. He's not naive, he knows that times are bad, but he figures that worrying about it is pointless. He tends to look for the bright side of everything. For example, most people would be upset that Molly had to elope to be married, but Gideon sees it as a good thing- if she had waited years to get married, he wouldn't have his adorable cousin to play with. Gideon is convinced that life itself is good.
In his everyday life, Gideon is smart. That might seem a given, considering his house, but he actually tries to hide it as much as possible. It's bad for his reputation, after all, to be seen as a bookworm. He studies at night- he has a amazing tolerance for lack of sleep. His teachers often get annoyed with him because he is the type of student who gets all the essays right, but doesn't answer any questions in class, even going to the point that he might give the wrong answer on purpose. He got E's on most of his OWLs, but he pushed for an O on his Defense Against the Dark Arts grade, the only class that he feels is actually worth his time. He is good with his wandwork, but potions are his downfall. He can't sit still long enough to finish one most of the time. His specialty, however, is the type of spell that is for attacking. His defensive spells could use some work. Overall, though. Gideon has a natural talent for learning, and he doesn't spend much time on his schoolwork at all. Unless, of course, he's dating a Ravenclaw, and then all of a sudden he's Mr. Nerd.
Gideon is pretty funny. He's not sarcastic, as a lot of people who are smart are, he just understands the essence of a good joke- timing. He often uses this power for good, to cheer people up, but he's not above using it against a Slytherin when the mood hits him. He really loathes Slytherins, mostly because they are idiots in most incarnations. He jokes are often broad, never subtle, and always good- at least, in his (not so humble) opinion. Most people laugh, though whether that's because the jokes are funny or because they are scared of his wand is debateable.
Gideon loves girls, or at least, the idea of girls. He's a bit too immature to actually love one, but that's okay. He is a huge flirt, but he doesn't often settle down with one girl. Girls amuse him, because they are so different from guys, and they do the craziest things. He often will laugh at his girlfriend-of-the-moment, which sometimes results in her becoming an ex-girlfriend-for-life, which is why he prefers girls who don't take themselves seriously and laugh at his jokes. That last point is very important.
The downside to Gideon is that he is a bit reckless. He still has that teenage "I can do anything" belief and is very confident, to the point where he is overconfident. He often needs Fabian or Molly to bring him down a notch, and remind him that he isn't invincible. When he is bored, he's been known to provoke a Slytherin or two just to see what happens. He finds himself in detention because of this quite often, but as he will protest, he didn't start the actual fight. Somehow, that doesn't work as a valid excuse.
•PATRONUS: It's this labrador retriever that looks more like a puppy from some angles than an adult. He was so shocked when it first came out, he staggered backwards. It wasn't the fact that he made on that suprised him; it was the form. He thinks it's too girly.
•BOGGART: Gideon's boggart is a spider. He is afraid of them, has been since he was a kid. Not many people know that, so they are suprised to see it. It's not that he's not afraid for his family, he just hides it well enough. And he really hates spiders.

•ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
Gideon trekked up the stairs to drop off his books before he went out to smoke. Normally, he didn't care if they smelled like smoke or not, but the smell bugged some people, and he didn't feel like fighting today. He just wanted to smoke one cigarette to take the edge off, and that would be it. Was that so hard? Of course not. Then why did everyone have to treat him like a criminal for smoking? It wasn't like he stole his cigarettes or anything. He had bought them, perfectly legally, and then multiplied them so that they didn't run out. Okay, maybe that wasn't too legal, but it still worked. It wasn't like cigarettes grew on trees at Hogwarts. No, Hogwarts' trees beat you up, he said to himself, remembering the Whomping Willow. It was stupid, really.
Gideon was distracted, and so it took him two tries to answer the question at the door that a first year could have given the answer to. He was glad to see that the Common Room was empty, though, as the door swung open. He comtemplated just dumping his bag on the ground and leaving it there for someone else to deal with, but he didn't have the heart to do it, so he dragged it up to the top of the tower and dumped it on his bed instead. He fished out his pack and pulled two, putting one in his hand and the other behind his ear. He then almost ran down the stairs, nearly bumping into some very startled first years on the way. He mumbled "sorry" and continued his way out the door.
As he walked down the stairs, he wondered where the proper place to light up was. It wasn't like he could exactly just start smoking while he was still in the building, but at what point did the building end and the grounds begin? At the physical barrier, the doors of the Great Hall, or at the point where someone in the castle couldn't smell the smoke? He opened the heavy door and took a deep breath of the cold, clean air, which was ironic only when you considered what he was about to fill his lungs with. He slowed his pace to take everything in. It was funny how just being out of the castle brought a sense of calm on Gideon, his whole body relaxing.
He took his wand and lit up his cigarette, a trick that he had perfected years ago. The thing that you had to remember was not to light the cigarette when it was in your mouth; it was too easy to poke out an eye or something when your wand was that close to your face. There was probably a more elegant way of dealing with it, but it worked for Gideon, and that was all that really mattered to him. He took another drag and sat down on the steps.
He was about halfway done with his first one when he first saw Marshall coming out of the door. She probably didn't notice him, as she looked preoccupied. Gideon didn't really know her well, more by reputation than anything else, as the bitchy Hufflepuff, a contradiction in and of itself. Still, he knew a few things about her, along the lines of the fact that she liked to smoke and party. It was suprising, really, that he didn't know her better, but that probably had something to do with the fact that she shared is taste in girls. It wasn't that that made Gideon uncomfortable; it just seemed like a waste of time to chat up a girl that would have absolutely no interest in him in that way. Guys were for friends, girls were for girlfriends in his mind, and he didn't quite get why anyone would want to put up with a girl as a friend. PMS was bad enough when you could at least expect something in return.
He watched her walk silently on, and then he saw the group of Slytherins following her. That couldn't be good because, by definition, anything involving Mulciber would lead to trouble. After all, this was the kid that thought picking on people was a wonderful pasttime. If ever there was a guy who took too much pleasure in raw pain, it was him. And Marshall seemed totally unaware that they were sneaking up on her. Gideon put his cigarette out and watched them carefully, taking his wand out of his pocket.
He watched as they closed in on her and started to fling the insults. Gideon stayed back, unsure of what to do. Marshal seemed like the kind of girl who could take care of herself, but that didn't mean much when the odds were six to one. On the other hand, she definitely seemed like the kind of girl that would get offended if he rushed in to save her. He stood up carefully as they continued to talk. He decided to go over only if they actually started to throw some curses.
He saw the first curse fly from one of the boys' wands, but it missed her as she grabbed her own wand. Gideon started to move more quickly now, almost, but not quite, at a run. He watched her shots miss, and then fired one of his own. "Didn't your mothers ever tell you to be nice to a lady?" he asked, taking the last few steps to meet the group. "It seems all those pureblood standards that are so highly praised are going down the toliet," he continued.
He looked over at Marshal to see how she was. Granted, she wasn't the sort that the word "lady" necessarily applied to, but the fact that she had Muggles for parents really shouldn't have mattered to those idiots. I mean, come on, she's got more balls than they do, he thought, taking on six people by herself. "You okay?" he asked her. She didn't look physically hurt, but she did look a little shaken.
