•HAIR: Jet Black; untamable
•EYES: Hazel
•GENERAL APPEARANCE: His hair sticks up in random directions, especially in the back, not matter how much he tries to tame it. He used to like it that way, to make it look like he just got off a broom, but lately it just bugs him. He wears round glasses, has a crooked smile, and mischievous eyes. If the drooling girls aren’t enough to tell you he’s well-liked, James will be the first to tell you how extremely good looking he thinks he is.
•DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: His glasses and hair. He has a couple scars from Quidditch, though nothing too serious.
•STYLE: Robes, what else? He hates ties, so he often is seen with the uniform tie loosened around his neck, his sleeves rolled up. James prefers to be comfortable. On weekends when most of the wizards are expected to wear Muggle clothes, James usually dresses in jeans and tee-shirts.
•PLAYBY: Gaspard Ulliel

•HOMETOWN: West Country of southwestern England
•MOTHER: Cordelia Peverell-Potter
•FATHER: Harold Potter
•BROTHER(S): Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew
•SISTER(S): None
•OTHER: It should ask “wife” because Lily Evans will someday hold that title, he is confident.
•HISTORY: Growing up with older parents who lived in a secluded little area where there weren’t many other children, James learned to entertain himself. Even at a young age, he would pull pranks on his parents, the neighbors, or his cat. He taught himself mischief at a very young age and showed it to the other Wizarding children that his parent’s friends would bring over. Maybe of these kids were older than James was, but he had still been the natural leader, always telling the stories and choosing what game they’d play next. James favorite game growing up was always Good vs. Evil, where the kids would pick up sticks for wands and capture all of the bad guys. James never took on the role of the bad guy, always making sure he could fight the evil, not be it.
When James finally got to Hogwarts, he was so excited. He already knew what house he wanted to be in, what him and his friends would do (4 seemed like the perfect number), and that he’d play Quidditch as soon as he could. He never tried very hard in school, having a natural ability for schoolwork and easily keeping his grades up. He wanted to be an Auror, after all.
On the train, he met Sirius Black. He knew of the name and had seen the boy at different functions, though Sirius’ parents never let James get to close to their son. Instead of sitting with his family, however, Sirius stuck his head in James’ compartment and asked to sit there. The two soon became best friends. During the sorting, Sirius went first and was surprisingly sorted in Gryffindor. As James eagerly waited to join his new friend, the name “Evans” came up. James was fixated with the red-haired, nervous girl; he had never seen anything so beautiful in his lifetime. He vowed to make that girl love him… and, though Lily Evans was very persistant, he never gave up.
During dinner, Sirius and James- whose eyes often darted in the direction of Lily Evans- met Peter Pettigrew, a pudgy kid who was in their grade and rooming with them. The three boys had another dorm mate, as well: Remus Lupin. Remus was quiet and soft spoken, and it took James loudly asking the kid why he wouldn’t hang out with him to actually get Remus to converse. James took the boy under his wing, dragging him along on whenever he could. Remus eventually became the number four James had wanted.
During their second year, James and the gang discovered Remus had a secret. After many arguments and a lot of research, they realized that Remus was a werewolf and vowed to help their friend. It took them 2 years, but they finally became illegal animagi. It didn’t bother them; they loved breaking the rules. They dubbed themselves the “Marauders” and gave each other cool nicknames. The school caught on to their names and started referring to the group as the name they had set for themselves, but only they knew what the name really meant; that’d they stand by each other, no matter what. They would always be friends.
Though James was a bit of a bully and often picked on weaker students, he realized that, though showing off worked for the other girls of Hogwarts, Lily Evans was different. The summer in between his sixth and seventh year, Sirius ran away from home and stayed with James. It made James wake up. Not everything could be perfect, and you sometimes had to work for the things you wanted. He spent the rest of the summer becoming more civil. After all, he only had one more year to snag the girl of his dreams. He finally did and it paid off… he is now dating Lily Evans and is the happiest man alive.
Sort of.

•PERSONALITY: Being a very competitive person, James’ mind is often triggered with jealousy. He likes to pull pranks and jinx people because it makes him feel superior. It helps him get girls, too. He likes to brag about himself and enjoys being the center of attention. Though he definitely has some extreme bad qualities, he is also a very trustworthy person who will stand by his friends, no matter what. He enjoys speaking his mind and, if you are on his good side, he will stick up for you.
He has a great sense of humor and loves pulling harmless pranks, even if some of those aren’t so harmless. He doesn’t really care about school, though manages to stay at the top of his class through simple knowledge. He also doesn’t care about detention and even has a bet going with Sirius to see who will have more detentions by the end of the year. He is very sarcastic and often has a comeback to anything.
He has quite a temper, especially when it comes to Lily. Though he tried to protect her, he often digs himself into a greater hole. He loves her with all his heart, even though his friends tell him it’s worthless. He is determined and his determination paid off.

They say that sometimes the weather reflects a person’s mood. When they were in a horrible-the world sucks kind of mood, the clouds may be out and the only light that shows throughout the darkness is the occasional crash of lightening, brightening the sky for one spilt second before slipping back into uncontrollable darkness once again. If you’re smiling and nothing can seem to bring you down, the sky just might be blue and the sun shining brightly.
Mother Nature works in wonderful and mysterious ways.
James Potter, on the other hand, wasn’t one for superstition and just believed that you couldn’t be too worried about what was going to happen, otherwise you’ll never take the chance. He’d have bad days where all he wanted to do was crawl into bed and wait for the next morning and everyone would be laughing and the sun would be mocking him from high above. And he’d have completely and utterly amazing days where the thunder would be blaring from overhead like music, so the thought that the weather controlled how a person may feel was preposterous to him.
But as he woke up too early for his taste, with the sun barely reflecting through the windows and cloud already starting to form- it would be raining later, no doubt- he wondered if Mother Nature had been trying to make him think that she was the all-powerful, since the atmosphere of the day seemed to reflect his personality famously.
He had dreamt of her again. He usually did, but lately it had been different. Instead of his dreams being happy and uplifting, making James think that one day there might be hope for him and Lily yet, the dreams had been mean and foul. The Dream-Lily, just like the Real-Lily, kept turning him down. He thought dreams were supposed to be happy, not sad.
Maybe he kept having nightmares.
Lately he felt like every time he asked her out, she would do just as Dream-Lily did and say no with brutal force that made James want to fly fifty feet in the air, just so he could fall off his broom and hit the ground. Remus said that maybe it was James' conscience trying to tell him that right thing to do-- not to ask Lily and just leave her alone. After seven years of persistently asking her out (he loved her since the first time he looked at her), he thought that maybe his mates were finally right... it was just time to let go and move on. Sirius said he could set him up with many capable rebound-girl candidates.
James, of course, had been on numerous dates, but never one where Lily wasn't on his mind. He always imagined himself taking her out instead of the random girl he was courting.
He sighed, pushing the covers back in aggravation and tiredly picked up his glasses, putting them on and headed to the bathroom to get ready for the day. It was an unusual thing when James was the first up in the dorm, but he just couldn't seem to get back to sleep. Besides, he knew Lily would be down at breakfast, probably reading some book or checking a homework assignment for the fifth time, and he was looking forward to spending some time alone with her. No matter what he told himself and no matter how many times he tried to stay away, it was just too hard.
Lily Evans was addicting.
He went down the hallway and into the Great Hall, yawning and ruffling his hair. He spotted her immediately, smiling as the light from the overhead candles hit her hair, making her look like a goddess. Of course, to James, she always did. He sat down next to her unceremoniously, grinning that cheeky grin of his.
"Morning, Evans. Have a good sleep?"
He prayed to the Gods to let Lily go easy on him. He had stayed up with Sirius, Remus, and Peter last night, having a little too much butterbeer. He was tired and had a headache and was hoping Lily would make him feel better, not worse. That should be easy, seeing as they were Head Boy and Girl together. That had to count for something, right? Shouldn't they at least try and be civil to each other?
(I got the impression that Lily and James were already dating from Lily's application. If that's wrong, let me know and I can fix this.)
